Volunteer with


American Friends of Kurdistan (AFK) is always looking to provide volunteer opportunities to students and professionals interested in foreign policy, government and Middle East affairs.  Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:

  1. Sincere interest in enhancing American-Kurdish relations;

  2. Highly motivated and responsible, with strong research, writing, computer, and oral communication skills;

  3. Ability to handle several tasks at once while working independently or as a team member; and 

  4. Knowledgeable of Middle East affairs.

  1. Cover letter explaining your interest in American-Kurdish relations;

  2. Resume;

  3. Non-official transcript;

  4. Two letters of recommendation from college professors or employers; and 

  5. Two writing samples (i.e., school paper that demonstrates your writing skills, articles you have published);
